Hats off to the courageous young boy who faced a painful encounter with a blue bottle jellyfish, and a massive round of applause for the lifeguards who swiftly stepped in to provide assistance. Has anyone else been stung by a jellyfish before? ?

I was. It was healing like a month. Pain was crazy !
Almost! As a kid once, my grandpa ran in and plucked me from the water, explaining that I’d been standing within stinging distance of a man-of-war. I don’t think I went back in the water that day.

If I happened to get stung by a blue bottle while at Bondi please have a lifeguard meet me at the showers with a green whistle. I’ll be the one curled in a ball under a hot shower crying. Just saying.

Do not put cold water packs on it just triggers the release of more venom and makes it worse. No wonder he’s screaming.
Man I hate seeing kids in pain. He’s a brave boy.
