Bondi Vet, Dr Chris Brown rushed to hospital after collapsing in City2Surf race

Around 85,000 people participated in the annual 14km City2Surf race, and amongst them was the adored Dr Chris Brown from the hit TV show Bondi Vet.

At around midday a man and woman collapsed at the intersection of O’Donnell St and Military Rd, Bondi.

NSW Police, NSW SES and St John ambulance responded. They treated two patients prior to NSW Ambulance arriving. Paramedics took over medical operations, stabilising the man and woman, prior to transporting them to hospital.

NSW Ambulance stated a number of people were treated for various conditions such as heat exhaustion and limb injuries.

In a statement provided to Fairfax Media, Dr Chris Brown said he was recovering from a respiratory virus and collapsed 2km from the finish line.

He was supporting the Westpac Alpha team which was raising money for the Westpac Rescue Helicopters. He was transported to St Vincent’s hospital and has since been released.

Emergency crews planned well for the major event and were quick to respond to all medical incidents.

  1. Oh Chris Brown – Please GET Speed Recovery as all animals include others Needs you.. You had a lot skills hands to doing those animals except dogs makes me crying. . . Therefore I have one black lab dog with 2 lumps “Big Lumps” I can’t afford to have her surgery. Oh well Right now she is 10 years old. I just leave it alone.

    3. Sydney Black Karma Sydney. If you can’t say something nice, take a hike. Chris runs his butt off saving animals lives. He probably doesn’t have as much time to run as much as he used to since he’s busy Worldwide!! Great guy…he’s fine & back to helping animals again. What show do you have?? None…I wonder why.
