    1. Thankyou but it was just a song my son picked for the clip which he though was funky not my cup of tea but hey what can an old guy do , better with sound off lol!

    1. Thankyou for the feedback yes music always a taste thing I suppose, but the best thing about it u can turn down lol

  1. Man, this brings back memories of my youth..those old buses were cool..used to catch the 322 from Murriverie road when I was a kid on a bus like that old Leyland single decker. Caught the 387 and 388 home from the junction after school as well (later the 380 and 381). Blows minds ..thanks for sharing!!!

  2. I was a bus conductor on those runs out of Waverly depot in 1970/71 just before they brought in the Atlantean single driver bus and got rid of the conductors. We went out on strike for a brief period. Lots of stories to tell. Agree the soundtrack is totally wrong.

  3. Haven’t lived in Sydney since 1968 but I still remember the Bondi bus from Wynyard was a 380 (although I was a Northern Beaches kid, grew up in Dee Why). My ex-wife lived in a flat on Ben Buckler for a while back then.

  4. Love seeing all these old photos but the music you are using is terrible and doesn’t fit the time. I watched it with the sound muted and it was far more enjoyable.

  6. Been to Sydney 3x (NYE 2015/16/17). Sydney Trains is the best. Though you need to catch a bus from Bondi Junction to Bondi Beach, which was usually single decker buses and crowded too. Great to see what buses were like in the old days before I was born, especially the double decker ones.

  8. Bondi, where I grew up became a toilet, so we left to enjoy the infinitely more solid pleasures of the northern beaches. A prison officer I knew once informed me that when prisoners are released on parole, the very first places to which they are immediately drawn are King’s Cross and…you guessed it, bleeding Bondi

  10. The first 40 seconds or so were a bit of a waste, but things really picked up when you got to the photos. Parts of Sydney that I’m pretty unfamiliar with, all very clearly shown,

  12. A North Coast resident , Came down to Sydney for a break after a sad divorce. Drove buses out of Waverley Depot 1996-200. Nice to see the old buses and how relatively quiet the traffic was in those days. Thanks for the clip and in contrast to the other comments here I quite liked the music despite my preferred taste being classical.

Ok, I probably had a couple of red wines when I made my comment on the video, BUT, How fitting is The Good, The Bad and The Ugly theme for these old buses and trams? Thank you for not just telling me to go forth and procreate, but all credit to you. A great video of our history.

  14. From 72 to 76 I caught the 365 from Eddie Ave quite often up to/from Bellview Hill. Lots of memories there. Thank you. Also, caught the 324 went to Rose Bay as well.
