Range Rover crashes near Bondi’s Icebergs restaurant
A luxury SUV has crashed onto a pedestrian walkway on Bondi Beach after rolling off the road and smashing through the safety barrier.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Wednesday morning after receiving reports a vehicle had ploughed through the guardrail and landed on a footpath below Notts Ave.
Photos of the accident show the Range Rover Velar, believed to be worth between $70,000 and $176,000, flipped upside down outside the public toilets near the Bondi Icebergs Club.
Police said the vehicle rolled off the road after the driver, who had been involved in a minor car accident earlier, exited the car to exchange details with the other motorist.
No one was inside the vehicle at the time and no pedestrians were injured.
Police have cordoned off the scene and have urged people to avoid the area as a recovery operation is coordinated.
Notts Avenue will remain closed until further notice.
