….loved this pool (s)…used swim here from ’46—’63……my Dad had a unit, in the blocks on the North end, when he retired
Anyone got info on “the bogey hole” ….on the tip of the NORTH point….?? I used hurl myself off there and ride the swell down and up and over into a “bogey hole”…..

I used to swim there for school sport when I attended Clovelly Public in 1973..my grandfather was a well known local, shark spotter, swim coach and lifeguard called Alf Vockler.

That’s how you end up with sharks, snakes, crocodiles and the occasional whale in your pool.

Don’t worry, it’s not going to happen there. I am sure these animals have better things to do than get trapped.

Jacob Zondag That’s funny. Good job.

Excellent place to have a swim and get the benefits of the sea water without risking actually going in the sea! Looks superb?

  6. Mick Carson on 16/12/2017 at 4:21 pm

Ah, well.. it needs fresh water, you know, people piss in pools.

Actually, there was a pool at the point between Tweed Heads and Coolangatta. What happened to it? I used to holiday there.

What strikes me as weird is the silly people stayed in the pool and on deck. Water is powerful. At least watch this incredible site from a safe distance.

The sea level is rising. What was safe when you were young may not be safe any longer.

My family lives down the road and still swims there..so yeah, it is.

nothing is safe with the Ocean! you never know when and how much the water is going to rise…

Astrin Ymris. ?agree 100% the Ocean is unpredictable. Nothing is safe with the Ocean! you never know when or how much is going to rise!

    It looks amazing

  19. Multikillx5 on 24/02/2018 at 10:12 am

Why is no one swimming in the pool? It should be fun and it is not scary since there are handle bars in the edge of the pool. Australians really are cowards.

It seemed like a good idea at the time ?
