I am writing to object to the proposal waste of $20-$30 million of ratepayers money to destroy the Hugh Bamford Reserve by constructing a council truck depot.
The basis of my objection is that this development is entirely unsuitable to a residential area, a waste of money and completely ridiculous to be mining 30,000 cubic metres of sandstone and park to build a council truck depot.
In particular we object on the basis of the increase in traffic and parking, especially thousands of truck movements each year, the desecration of Aboriginal Heritage and the disturbance of the historical Bondi Gun Emplacement.

It’s time to get out and be counted ! The State Government really needs to know that we’re serious about stopping this greedy intrusion into …the quiet Village of Hall Street.
Get your friends together and come to Hall Street Village on Saturday morning and tell the world that this proposal is not what Bondi wants!
11am is crunch time, but we’re there for an hour each side. Council has supplied us with a copy of the plans so you can see in detail how aggressive this proposal really is.

Human peace sign on Bondi Beach, Sunday 4th October 2009. Around 200 people particpated, although it was a gloomy overcast day, the mood of the people was totally the opposite. It was loads of fun and a great day. The event was part of the World March for Peace and Non Violence which is travelling through 100 countries over 90 days. It started in NZ on 02/10/2009 and will finish in Punta de Vacas in Argentina on the 02/01/2010.
